Trust and Safety
This Trust and Safety policy establishes iScope's framework for maintaining a trustworthy and safe iScope platform. It supplements A.1 Platform Master User Agreement, G.1 Acceptable Use Policy, R.1 Anti-Discrimination, L.4 Contractor Code of Conduct, and other framework documents.
1. ISCOPE'S COMMITMENT
iScope is committed to:
-
safety of all Users — physical, financial, informational, psychological;
-
integrity of marketplace transactions;
-
trust through transparency, accountability, and consistent enforcement;
-
inclusivity through anti-discrimination (R.1) and accessibility (S.3);
-
continuous improvement of trust and safety based on Platform experience.
2. SAFETY CONCERNS COVERED
2.1 Physical Safety.
- Contractor's personal conduct in Customer's Property (privacy, safety, respect);
- Customer's personal conduct toward Contractor on-site;
- Safety of personnel performing work (per O.3 Safety Attestation);
- Public safety related to work operations;
- Vulnerable persons (children, elderly, disabled) in Properties.
2.2 Financial Safety.
- Protection against fraud (per G.2);
- Protection of payment information (per D.2, F.1, G.3);
- Protection against scams targeting Customers or Contractors;
- Anti-money-laundering basic measures (per B.2 sanctions screening).
2.3 Informational Safety.
- Privacy of personal information (per F.1);
- Security of Platform credentials and data (per B.3, G.3);
- Confidentiality of business information (per H.7);
- Protection of vulnerable information categories.
2.4 Psychological Safety.
- Freedom from harassment (R.1);
- Freedom from threats or intimidation;
- Respectful communication standards (K.3, L.4);
- Inclusive environment for diverse Users.
2.5 Property Safety.
- Protection of Customer's Property during work (H.5 Section 5);
- Protection against unauthorized access;
- Security of Property documentation in Property records (C.1, C.9);
- Appropriate handling of Property records by Specialty Account holders (B.7).
3. PROTECTING VULNERABLE PERSONS
3.1 Awareness. iScope and Users are aware that Property work may involve:
-
Children — minors at the Property may be exposed to work;
-
Elderly — older adults may be more vulnerable to scams or pressure;
-
Persons with disabilities — physical or cognitive impairments may affect interactions;
-
Domestic-violence survivors — may have specific privacy/safety needs;
-
Persons with mental health conditions — may need patience and accommodation.
3.2 Contractor Conduct with Vulnerable Persons. Contractors will:
-
maintain professional conduct (per L.4);
-
avoid taking advantage (e.g., upselling unnecessary work to elderly Customers);
-
report observed concerns to iScope and to applicable authorities where appropriate (Section 3.3);
-
maintain extra care with children in the Property (safety, supervision, appropriate boundaries);
-
respect privacy/confidentiality of sensitive household situations.
3.3 Mandatory Reporting Considerations. Some Contractors may have legal obligations to report:
-
Suspected child abuse or neglect — some states require professionals working with children to report;
-
Suspected elder abuse — many states require reporting;
-
Imminent harm to person — general public-safety reporting may be appropriate.
Contractors operate per their own legal obligations. iScope's role is supportive (e.g., providing reporting hotline info); iScope does not impose reporting obligations beyond what applicable law requires of the Contractor.
3.4 Customer Concerns About Contractor Conduct. Customers concerned about Contractor's conduct around vulnerable household members may:
-
report through Trust & Safety channels (Section 5);
-
request the Contractor's replacement on the Project;
-
consult appropriate professional resources (e.g., child welfare, adult protective services, social services).
4. ON-SITE SAFETY DURING WORK
4.1 Contractor's Safe Practices. Per O.3 Safety and Compliance Attestation:
-
OSHA-compliant practices;
-
PPE use;
-
hazardous-material handling per applicable regulations;
-
tool/equipment safety;
-
site protection.
4.2 Customer-Side Safety. Customers cooperate with safety:
-
limiting access to work areas during hazardous work;
-
keeping children and pets away from active work zones;
-
communicating known hazards at the Property (e.g., aggressive pets, prior asbestos);
-
cooperating with site protection measures.
4.3 Emergency Procedures. Both parties are aware of emergency procedures:
-
call 911 for medical/fire/police emergencies;
-
call utility emergency lines for utility emergencies;
-
notify iScope through Platform of significant safety incidents (per O.3 Section 5).

5.3 Information to Include. As detailed as practical: who, what, where, when, why, evidence.
5.4 Anonymous Reports. iScope accepts anonymous reports for trust & safety concerns, with the understanding that anonymous reports may limit investigation effectiveness.
6. ISCOPE'S RESPONSE
6.1 Triage. Reports are triaged based on:
-
Severity — physical safety > financial harm > inconvenience;
-
Urgency — ongoing threat > completed incident;
-
Volume — pattern of reports may escalate;

Vulnerability — reports involving vulnerable Users get attention.
6.2 Immediate Response Where Warranted. For urgent matters:
-
immediate Account suspension of alleged offender (pending investigation);
-

8.3 Support. iScope provides support information for victims, including:
-
referrals to appropriate professional resources (e.g., domestic violence hotline, adult protective services, child welfare);
-
information about legal rights and remedies;
-
Platform-side accommodations (e.g., reassignment to new Contractor, account privacy adjustments).
8.4 Victim Empowerment. iScope respects victim agency — does not pressure victims to take specific actions (e.g., to press charges, to continue or terminate a relationship). iScope provides information and supports the victim's choices.
9. SAFETY OF CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL
9.1 Customers' Conduct Toward Contractor Personnel. Customers must treat Contractor personnel with the same respect required of Contractors toward Customers. Customer conduct prohibited includes:
-
harassment of Contractor personnel based on protected characteristics (R.1);
-
threats or intimidation;

creating unsafe working conditions;
-
sexual harassment;
-
recording Contractor personnel without consent for purposes inconsistent with reasonable Property documentation.

-
document the conduct;
-
report to iScope (Section 5);
-
coordinate with iScope on Project wind-down;
-
Contractor is not penalized for declining hostile Projects.
10. SAFETY OF ISCOPE PERSONNEL
iScope personnel deserve the same trust-and-safety considerations as other Users. Hostile, threatening, or harassing behavior toward iScope personnel by Users is grounds for Account suspension or termination (per B.5).
